Sun City

Gary Player Country Club is probably the most recognised and well known golf course in South Africa. Having hosted the Nedbank Million Dollar Challenge since 1981 the course has received worldwide exposure for so many years.Measuring 7700 yards from the championship tees and surrounded by the Pilansberg Mountains Gary Player Country Club is a stunning golf course. The closing holes are a real challenge with the 18th hole featuring a long carry over water to the final green. Staying on the fairways is really key so as to avoid the thick rough that can be found on many holes. It is worth noting that Gary Player Country Club is deemed a walking course only but buggies can be arranged if there is proof of a medical requirement.Lost City Golf Course is another Gary Player designed course and although overshadowed by the Championship course still deserves respect. The course measures over 7600 yards and is well known for many immense water hazards surrounding the greens. The 13th hole is the widely renowned signature hole and you would be well advised to avoid retrieving any lost balls in the water- unless you fancy taking your chances with the crocodiles that lurk.

Cascades Hotel Sun City-Hotel Facilities

Named after the waterfalls that dominate the lush gardens Cascades  Hotel is an oasis of calm amongst the bustling atmosphere of Sun City Resort

The hotel has 243 well appointed bedrooms all with views of the stunning landscape that surrounds Sun City. All the bedrooms are decorated to a very high specification to enhance the calm atmosphere of Cascades Hotel.

The hotel facilities include an excellent spa with 3 swimming pools  plus access to the Gary Player Health Centre and the Entertainment Centre. There are plenty of dining options including the Peninsula Restaurant offering a range of continental dishes. Guests can also choose the Mediterranean themed menu at Bocado or opt for a more informal meal at Gary Player Country Club restaurant and bar.

Itinerary for Tournament

The itinerary includes the opportunity to play the Gary Player Country Club course which is the host for the  Nedbank Golf Challenge every November. With all the extra activities available at Sun City Resort this is also a perfect opportunity for golfers to bring their non golfing partners and friends to enjoy a magical holiday in South Africa.

Day 1 – February 2022

  • Collect from OR Tambo International Airport Johannesburg
  • Check in at Sun City Cascades Hotel
  • Welcome Dinner for golfers and partners- Drinks not included

Day 2 – February 2022

  • Free day to explore Sun City Resort
  • Optional practice round available for supplement

Day 3 – February 2022

  • Practice Day for Professionals and Amateurs
  • 18 holes on Sun City Lost City Golf Course with shared buggy and caddy included

Day 4 – February 2022

  • Competition Day for Professionals and Amateurs
  • 18 holes on Gary Player Country Club with shared buggy included
  • 1 Spotter Caddy per fourball provided

Day 5 – February 2022

Free Day for optional Golf(supplement applies)
Sundowner Game Drive in Pilanesberg National Park

Day 6 – February 2022

  • Competition Day for Professionals and Amateurs
  • 18 holes on Lost City Golf Course including shared buggy and caddy
  • 3 Course Buffet Dinner at the Signature Clubhouse- 6 local brand beers per person included

Day 7 – February 2022

  • Competition Day for Professionals and Amateurs
  • 18 holes on Gary Player Country Club  including shared buggy
  • 1 Spotter Caddy per fourball
  • Farewell Dinner and Prize Giving for golfers and partners. Drinks not included

Day 8 – February 2022

  • Check out and departure after Breakfast
  • Transfer to OR Tambo International Airport included
